Our Story
How we went from an idea to planting an orchard on the Palouse.

Why Pullman?
Pullman, Washington sits in the heart of the Palouse โ a region known for its rich volcanic soil and rolling hills. While most people associate the Palouse with wheat and lentils, the climate here can support fruit trees with the right variety selection and care. The cold winters provide the chill hours that apple and pear trees need, and the warm summers give peaches the heat they crave.
The Beginning
The idea for Nadeau Farms started with a simple question: could we grow great fruit here? We researched varieties, talked to local growers, and looked at what thrives in USDA Zone 6b. The answer was yes โ with patience.
Fruit trees don't produce overnight. Young apple, peach, and pear trees typically need three to five years before they bear a meaningful crop. We planted knowing we'd be caring for these trees for years before we'd see our first real harvest.
What We Believe
We believe in doing things right even when no one is watching. That means healthy soil, thoughtful pruning, and honest communication about what we grow and how we grow it. When we do open our gates, we want every visitor to trust that what they're picking is something we'd feed our own family.
What's Next
Right now, we're in the planting and waiting period. Our trees are in the ground and growing. We expect our first meaningful harvest around 2028. Until then, we're documenting our progress, learning every day, and sharing what we know.
